Kilowatt Ours at Werthan Lofts
>> Wednesday, October 22, 2008
This Thursday, October 23, Werthan Homeowners’ Association is co-hosting an event with Kilowatt Ours, a local non-profit organization to discuss their plan to make Nashville the most energy efficient city in the Southeast.
For Werthan, this all began when the Association asked for ideas to reduce our monthly expenses. I remembered how Jeff Barrie’s film, Kilowatt Ours, sparked my own personal conservation effort and suggested we approach him for some ideas and inspiration for a community conservation plan. Jeff thought this would be a wonderful opportunity to bring leaders from neighborhood associations and related groups together in a town-hall-style meeting to share our vision and gather input on how we can bring energy conservation resources into our community and others, and help us all cut energy costs.
WHEN: Thursday, 10/23, 4:15pm to 7:30pm
WHERE: The Lofts at Werthan Mills, 1400 Rosa Parks Blvd., 37208 (Germantown), in the beautiful east courtyard. Dress weather-appropriate. Alternate RAIN location will be the Village Real Estate Offices at 2206 21st Avenue S.
The event will feature several highlights:
1) Mayor Karl Dean will share his vision for making Nashville the “greenest city in the southeast,” and how we can all work together towards this timely goal,
2) Jeff Barrie will share a sneak-preview screening of his award-winning documentary film Kilowatt Ours, which will debut on NPT Channel 8 the following evening, 10/24 at 7pm,
3) the Werthan Homeowners’ Association will share our plan to make our homes and community more energy efficient, and
4) we will have an open discussion about how others can bring energy conservation back to their neighborhoods.
Please join us for this special occasion that will benefit our entire community.
